During the winter of 2017/18 many changes have been put into place to allow act4ward to stand alone as a work within Wildven, and to find and build upon it's own identity.
act4ward is now totally separate from The Halfling Project and the bulk of it's work is aimed at school leaving age and those in further education or training.
This change of age to that of mid teens up means more advanced and demanding acting - with roles more able to reflect the acting industry as it actually is.
With video now a core part of the industry casting process and self tapes becoming so important this must be reflected in act4ward work.
Just because an actor is young does not mean they cannot handle demanding roles - and the old censors of age over performance demands have by and large lost the battle.
I demand decency in all things, but must take into account the roles and the characters a young actor is asked to play - and sometimes those characters don't live by the same rules.
Old limits on my work are slowly being lifted, reflecting the trend towards on screen violence and "real life" demands.
i do encourage young actors to appreciate old style film acting and recreate times past, and this is often reflected in my photography too.
The simple approach to my work will continue - I believe it is this approach which makes it work.
Careful selection of those to take part within act4ward open series will be extended - and places limited.
This way everyone get a fair chance to benefit from our work together.
I also want to extend group activity within those working on act4ward .
Space at the station is still a major obstacle to planned development , but this can be got around.
The core intention with act4ward remains - the development and promotion of the young actors working within it - if your interested in being involved feel free to get in touch.
The main criteria can be found within these pages or by asking questions.
Wishing you all a Happy Spring 2018
